Meet Spiderette

Here are the details for this mode. The tableau contains seven columns rather than ten. Spiderette on vvvorx.com uses one 52-card deck with all four suits. Four complete same-suit King-to-Ace runs win the game. The smaller deck does not remove the need to manage suit changes.

The opening staircase

Here are the details for this mode. Only the bottom card of each initial column is face up. The seventh opening column contains seven cards. The opening tableau contains 28 cards altogether. The first opening column contains one card and each following column contains one more.

Twenty-four stock cards

A few details help explain this feature. The final stock deal contains three cards for the first three columns. The stock is used in deals of seven, seven, seven and three cards. Spiderette begins with 24 cards in the stock. A full stock deal adds one card to each of the seven columns.

Build down by rank

A single exposed card can land on another exposed card exactly one rank higher. A King can enter only an empty column because no rank is higher. A destination card may belong to a different suit. Any exposed card may enter an empty column.

Move a sequence

Keep these points in mind. Selecting a shorter matching segment can reveal an available group move. A mixed-suit descending sequence cannot move as one group. A movable group must be face up and descend in one suit. The selected group's leading card determines which destination rank is legal.

Open the hidden layout

Keep these points in mind. Moving all exposed cards off a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. No separate click is needed to reveal a newly uncovered card. Undo restores a hidden card's earlier state when the revealing action is reversed. An exposed hidden card can create another possible destination.

Prepare to use the stock

Here are the details for this mode. A stock deal may interrupt a sequence you were assembling. Any valid movable group can fill an empty column. This Spiderette version requires every column to contain a card before a stock deal. An empty column prevents dealing even when only the final three stock cards remain.

Four complete runs

A qualifying run contains thirteen cards of one suit from King down to Ace. A complete face-up run is removed automatically from the bottom of a column. One run is needed for spades, hearts, clubs and diamonds. Four collected runs account for every card in the deck.

Useful practice controls

The following details apply here. Hint suggests a legal move without checking every possible future continuation. Replay starts the same Spiderette shuffle again. Undo reverses a successful move or stock deal while recent history is available. A random Spiderette shuffle is not advertised as guaranteed winnable.
